Pictures have been a great part of our lives in one way or another. Taking pictures of ourselves and our loved ones has been our passion especially on special events. But how much do we really know about photography? Here are some topics that will help us learn more about the importance and different types of photography.

1. Photography that focuses on taking pictures of beautiful scenes or landscapes refers to Aerial Photography.
2. Amateur Photography -- From the name itself, it is a type of photography that is done by someone who is not a professional in the field of photography.
3. A type of photography that deals with taking photos of anything that fits being adventurous is referred to as Action or Adventure Photography. As the name imply, the photographer takes pictures of sports events, daring feats and other activities that are considered as an adventure.
4. Kirlian Photography -- This is a type of contact print photography wherein an object that is touching a photographic plate is connected to a high voltage power source, therefore creating an aura that creates an image. This type of photography is sometimes called aura photography.
5. Another type of photography called Time-Lapse happens when one sets up the camera in a special way so that it captures pictures with long exposure. This can produce a photo showing a passing of time while other things are portrayed as moving things. You may be familiar with this photo where in it shows a busy street where in car lights are shown as blurry lines, this is a great example of this type.
6. Underwater Photography -- As the term implies, this refers to photographs taken underwater. The photographer may take images under a pool, lake, river, or the sea to capture what’s happening underneath.
7. A Black and White Photography is a type of photograpy in black in white colors, however, this is more than that. This type of photography focuses on the different tones, textures or shapes of the subject. It explores the subject in a different level. When we talk about this type of photography, two components are important. These are shadows and highlights.
The aforementioned are a few of the types of photography that can be explored by anyone who is interested in photography. Photography itself has many uses, the most common of which are for artistic expression and for business promotion. But for those who simply love to immortalize moments as they pass by, photography of any type is going to be very useful.
